Job Description:
Club ControllerKey RelationshipsReports to: VP of Operations/VP
of FinanceDirect reports: N/AOther key relationships: Across
DepartmentsThe objective of the Club Controller position is to
provide accuracy, profitability, and expense goals all while
managing multiple projects per year, ensuring transactions are
completed and reporting is timely.ResponsibilitiesSupervise
Accounting function and related staff management including hiring,
training, and performance management.Advise operating staff on
financial, business, internal control matters, and organizational
structure.Participate in directing and ensuring state-of-art
accounting/finance-related solutions that involve software
applications and related hardware for all
administrative/operational functions.Maintain a current and
accurate version of the project's business plan.Month-end
accounting closing/reporting.Generate weekly/monthly reports to
stakeholders along with supervising financial statement preparation
to the partnership.Initiation of bank wires/disbursements.Create
internal auditing programs/routines to ensure records are
accurately maintained while consistently following policies and
procedures to align with the department's annual external audit
exercise.Participate in weekly meetings including Business Partner
Review, finance committee, and monthly partner calls.Identify &
implement opportunities for expense control.Establish new policy
and procedures processes, documentation, and ensure
compliance.Process improvement and implementation of current
GAAP/FASB pronouncements.Enforce compliance with established
procedures for contracts, PO's, limits of authority, and expense
reimbursement.Provide exceptional service and communication at all
times with members/guests, and team members.Any other duties as
assigned.QualificationsDemonstrates respect for and appreciation of
Hawaiian values, history, and culture, understanding its
implication in one's work, in fostering meaningful relationships,
and in embracing the community served.Bachelor's degree from
accredited college or university, preferably in Finance/Accounting,
4-5 years of job-related skill/knowledge, and CPA license
preferred.Prior working knowledge of accounting applications to
include Timberline & Jonas POS highly preferred.Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Product Suite.Positive attitude, professional
demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to
deliver service to members, guests, and team members.Knowledge of
and ability to operate computer and communication platforms.Ability
to work in a team environment.Ability to stay calm and focused
during the busiest of times.Ability to work a flexible schedule,
including evenings, weekends, and holidays and a shift greater than
eight (8) hours in length.Ability to read, write, speak and
understand English; additional languages preferred.Ability to meet
the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to,
working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, and moving for
periods of greater than four (4) hours, and infrequently lifting,
carrying, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and
