Job Description:
Fairmont Kea Lani is seeking a passionate sales and marketing
leader with 5 years of experience in a luxury hotel environment to
fill the position of Director of Sales and Marketing. This role is
accountable for leading all aspects of Sales, Revenue, Conference
Services, Marketing and PR and will be responsible for
collaborating with departments in developing and implementing
strategies to maximize sales, revenue, destination and product
awareness through all segments. Our ideal DOSM candidate will have
a strong understanding of both the Group and Leisure Transient
market segments with a proven track record of creating and driving
tactics to achieve results. The DOSM will be required to
effectively support and lead staff members who are both on and off
property in conjunction with working closely with the fellow DOSM
at Fairmont Orchid within the existing area sales model for

opportunities What you will be doing: Developing and executing
hotel strategies and initiatives to drive performance in all market
segments - group, transient and tour - as well as ancillary spend
through spa and food & beverage. Developing sales, marketing, and
public relations strategies & tactics that align and support the
hotel's strategic plan and positioning. Ensuring clear
communication, critical for this role, as it relates to the
coordination of other hotel departments, along with the sales and
marketing team members, to drive revenue, ownership communication,
reporting, and the sharing of best practices. Working
collaboratively with others, in a complex, fast-paced, dynamic and
highly rewarding structure. Challenging the status-quo, constantly
looking for ways to improve and build upon successes. Focusing on
the group market segment with the goal of maximizing overall hotel
revenue contribution per group room night and ensuring an optimal
occupancy mix (daily, monthly, seasonally). Collaborating with
sister hotel, Fairmont Orchid, to create marketing and/or
promotions content and to share or adopt hotel best practices.
Sourcing, securing and managing various vendor partnerships to
support and enhance S initiatives. Ensuring adherence to Corporate
contract negotiations and terms/conditions with the goal of
protecting all key business constituents (Hotel, Brand, Guest, and
Owner). Analyzing data and metrics to both create and measure
against strategic tactics and plans. Articulating updates and
results as required. Identifying opportunities to increase on-going
and additional revenue streams and creating value by challenging
existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary
change. Providing customer intelligence and evaluation of market &
economic trends, and adapting sales, pricing and marketing
strategies to meet/exceed customer expectations as well as budget.
Leading and collaborating with the sellers to grow and develop new
accounts & markets from the all market segments (group, transient,
wholesale, consortia, and tour) as well as catering/conference
services. Establishing all sales quotas as outlined in the budget
and working closely with all sellers to drive performance and
ensure goals are met. Overseeing all print, digital and social
media marketing activities, including content creation, analytics
and seasonal tactical plans. This will also include working closely
with the Area/Regional and Corporate marketing teams to ensure
synergies. Participating in the development and management of the
hotel's online reputation strategy. Ensure the creation and
distribution of collateral (online and traditional) and all sales
promotional pieces to support business goals and destination
awareness. Overseeing website management (Accor.com, Fairmont.com,
property microsite, and venue microsites) to ensure content and
offer updates are actioned by the property marketing team. Aligning
microsite content to regional strategies and best practices.
Monitoring all marketing efforts, in collaboration with Marketing
Manager, to ensure consistent tone and articulation of property, as
well as brand, USP. Being ultimately responsible for the resorts
adherence to all brand marketing standards. This includes internal
and guest facing communications/signage. Developing meaningful and
strategic partnerships with local and external organizations to
further brand/product awareness. Collaborating with brand and
regional teams. Managing local Public Relations initiatives and
working in collaboration with Director of Public Relations &
Communications to find, expand and solidify National/International
opportunities. Demonstrating a strong knowledge in Revenue
Management, ensuring revenues/yields are maximized based on demand
and growth requirements. Showcasing an ability to maximize revenue
during peak demand periods, while creating initiatives to drive
demand during slow periods. Working with the Director of Revenue
Management to monitor rate parity and alignment with COR campaigns.
Leading and supporting the on property conference services team, in
conjunction with the Director of Conference Services & Catering.
Ensuring follow-up and actions plans to build VOG results and
meeting planner guest satisfaction. Preparing monthly, quarterly
and annual reports as required and analyzing various reports and
resources to establish hotel's optimal market position. Building
and maintaining a strong relationship with owners and actively
participating in the preparation and delivery of
monthly/quarterly/annual business reviews. Championing Accor S
campaigns and programs thus ensuring hotel participation when
applicable and compliance. Acting as a member of the hotel's
executive committee, including participating in hotel events,
assisting with communications and playing an active role in all
colleague engagement action plans. Your experience and skills
include: Five years hotel sales experience. Previous experience as
DOSM at a larger luxury resort required Experience in resort
locations within Hawai'i an asset Bachelor's degree and/or Hotel
Management degree an asset Demonstrated knowledge and experience in
advertising and promotional activities Exceptional communication
and interpersonal skills and strengths in innovation and
results-orientation Proven Leadership skills and experience
Creative, effective and passionate individual with a high level of
professionalism and human relation abilities Honed administrative,
critical thinking and project management skills Must possess a
basic understanding of hotel accounting procedures (Budget,
Forecast, GL and P) Ability to travel and work flexible hours
Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure You may be
required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other
