Job Description:
JOB OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for and leads all
U.S. Aviation operations and administrative functions. In addition,
supports all corporate and local initiatives to drive optimal
performance at the station while promoting a safe environment for
internal/external customers and preserving our corporate culture.
Assures operations are compliant with all regulatory and corporate
policies. Is actively involved in local airport operations and
cargo community. Responsible to manage all airport operations
including, freight, janitorial, and cabin operations.
Oversight of Operations for Kahului (OGG), Hawaii and Neighbor
Islands (including KOA, and LIH)Establish service standards for US
Aviation Airport Operations and develop measurement tools to ensure
standards aremetEnsures all Company and Governmental policies,
procedures and mandates which include, but are not limited to
safety,training, administration/payroll, staffing, leadership
development, security directives, manuals, tariffs, CMIS, FAA,
DOT,TSA, CBP and other contractual requirements and serve as SME
for Operations interface with the FAA, DOT, TSA, USDA,CBP and
OSHAMeets Operations financial objectives with particular focus on
handling costs and laborManage programs to ensure rigorous,
enforceable, and continuously improving service level agreements
are being met,and drive high standards of service. Ensure station
comply with all regulatory and compliance requirements andnegotiate
contracts as needed.Oversee Cabin / Cargo Audit and Compliance
including the Safety Management System (SMS)Develop operating
strategies that improve performance and enhance US Aviation's
reputation as an Airport OperationsBusiness HandlerMaintain a
positive interactive relationship with the Cabin/Cargo teams to
assist and support in developing strategiesand programs aimed to
increase revenue, while reducing exposure to penalties/fines,
claims and lossesMaintain authorized staffing levels to maximize
performance for operational schedulesManage overtime to meet
authorized/budgeted requirementsPromote and maintain the Safety
program; ensure OSHA and safety compliance; Audit compliance is
adhered toCoordinate, monitor and ensure compliance for all local,
safety and regulatory training requirementsInternal / External
Customer Interaction; Interfacing with customers, other department
counterparts and peersDevelop operating strategies that improve
performance and enhance US Aviation's reputationExpected to work
closely to motivate and promote growth/advancement through a
consistent and fair application ofcoaching and counseling, while
setting the example of a positive role modelCoordinate, monitor and
ensure compliance for all local, safety and regulatory training
requirementsEnsure all Claims and Losses are handled timely and
properlyResponsible for Hazmat/Dangerous Goods training and
compliance and all audit complianceOversee all Office staff to
include Training for all U.S. Aviation departments
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelors' degree or
equivalent work experienceFive years of professional experience,
with at least three years of airport operations service or related
and two years asa manager with direct reports in the specific
industry / functional area3-5 years Airport and Cargo Operations
experience, cabin service, freight, mail, interline, dangerous
goods, and themovement of specialized commoditiesExcellent
Communication skillsAbility to build teams with employees and
possess excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to engage frontline
Leaders and Cargo Employee populationAbility to lead and sustain
continuous improvement environment and initiativesLeadership
Development SkillsContinuous Improvement experienceRequired to work
various hours, weekends and holidays as the operation requiresUp to
25% travelSuccessful candidate must be able to clear a criminal
history check to obtain and retain credentials necessary
forposition. Specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA
/ TSA / Airport Authority / US Customs.Reliable, punctual
attendance is an essential function of the position
