Responsibilities
Molokai General Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Clinical
Coordinator of Performance Improvement, Infection Prevention &
Control. This position coordinates, implements, and facilitates key
clinical performance improvement efforts including, but not limited
to: Disease management, quality and focus studies outcomes projects
and research.
Molokai General Hospital (MGH) is a 15-bed rural health care
facility with a Critical Access Hospital designation. It provides
the only emergency room for the residents and visitors on the
island of Molokai. MGH became a part of The Queens Health Systems
in 1987 and provides acute care, inpatient hospice, skilled
nursing, and low-risk obstetrical services. It also offers primary
care in a rural health clinic, chemotherapy, limited specialty
procedures, diabetes management, family planning, physical therapy
(including aquatic therapy), veterans services and chronic disease
navigation services.

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates performance
improvement activities in accordance with departments goals and
objectives and mission of Molokai General Hospital (MGH) and The
Queens Health Systems (QHS). Coordinates, implements and
facilitates key clinical performance improvement efforts including,
but not limited to: disease management, quality and focus studies
outcomes projects and research. Implements, monitors, and updates a
comprehensive program that encompasses both patient care and
employee health issues.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential: standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling,
squatting, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting and
carrying usual weight of 10 pounds, reaching above, at and below
shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an
object for prolonged periods.
Operates typewriter, computer, telephone, printer, calculator, and
copier.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Current Hawaii State License as a Registered Nurse.
Bachelors degree in nursing.
B. EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of performance improvement, databases/information systems
preferred.
Demonstrated experience with computer word-processing, spreadsheet,
and presentation applications may be required depending upon area
of assignment.
Two (2) years experience in acute care or community healthcare
setting.
Leadership and teaching experience, including adult education
principles, and/or patient care practices.
Experience to demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word,
Excel, and Outlook).
Experience with regulatory requirements for Joint Commission,
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other
federal and state agencies.
Experience working in process improvement.
