Queen's North Hawaii Community Hospital - is a 35-bed rural
acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii Island.
More than 300 employees and over a dozen employed physicians staff
the main hospital, as well the outpatient clinics located in the
Lucy Henriques Medical Center, at our Primary Care Clinic located
near Longs Drugs, and at our Specialty Clinic located in the Parker

Responsibilities
-
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Provides clinical consultation to facilitate coordination of
wound care across the continuum.
--- For patients admitted to the inpatient setting, the Wound Care
Nurse provides a written report to the inpatient nurse regarding
wound care, wound healing progress and long range goals. -
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
--- Essential: lifting up to 5-10 lb., seeing, hearing, talking,
grasping, fingering.
--- Continuous: standing, walking, stooping, forward reaching,
handling.
--- Frequent: pushing and pulling up to 30 psi, lifting up to 10
lbs., sitting, bending, squatting, twisting.
--- Occasional: pushing and pulling up to 70 psi; lifting:
horizontal lift/carry up to 50 lbs. with assistance, floor to waist
up to 35 lbs., waist to shoulder up to 25 lbs., overhead level up
to 15 lbs.; carrying up to 35 lbs, running, climbing, side bending,
kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching.
--- Operates various machines/tools/work aids.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
--- May be exposed to body fluids, blood products, and communicable
diseases.
--- Work environment may be highly stressful, fast paced and
hectic.
--- May be subjected to patients with behavior health
conditions.
--- May be subjected to heavy patients requiring transfer to and
from wound center chair or table.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
--- Current Hawaii license as a Registered Nurse.
--- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
--- Current wound certification from a nationally recognized
program; or must obtain a wound certification from a nationally
recognized program within two (2) years of entrance into the
position.
--- Current certification in Basic Life Support at the Healthcare
Professional Level.
B. EXPERIENCE:
--- Two (2) years clinical nursing experience.
