Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY Under general direction, the Lead Retail Associate assists the Supervisor and Manager in day-to-day operations, as well as, being responsible for selling, restocking merchandise, and maintaining a clean and organized store. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Opens and closes the store at the designated floor hours.
  • Greets each guest with a smile and sincerity as they enter the store.
  • Assist with guest questions and concerns.
  • Provide and/or assists customers with location, price, use, and care of merchandise. Assist guests with fit or trying on of clothing.
  • Maintain knowledge of merchandise, current sales and promotions, policy and procedures regarding payments, returns, and security practices.
  • Maintain visual appeal of the store.
  • Check-in merchandise accurately, log all received merchandise and notate any quantity and cost discrepancies.
  • Price, restock, and rotate merchandise; keep all items pulled forward with labels facing out (coolers and shelves), monitor item expiration dates and pull when needed. Update and arrange sales display areas to promote sales.
  • Forward invoices, packing slips, credit memos, and mail to supervisor/manager.
  • Complete special projects and assist with resort events where retails items are sold/served.
  • Read Gift Shop Journal daily upon start of shift and follow daily instructions for all special deliveries of beverage and/or food.
  • Maintain coffee bar at all times, keeping fully stocked, clean and organized.
  • Bread down and clean coffee bar at the end of the day.
  • Maintain clean environment; clean shelves, counters, tables, displays, back room, register area, vacuum carpet and sweep/mop floors.
  • Wipe down cooler doors, glass windows and glass doors.
  • Monthly physical inventory count of merchandise every last day of the month. Inventory may be done during floor hours and/or after regular hours.
  • Meet revenue goals and maintain record of sales.
  • Answer phone calls and assist guest needs; place special orders over the phone.
  • Count and verify bank money in the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Daily cash change and cash drops in safe at the end of each shift.
  • Process and complete cash balance, reconcile charge ships, vouchers, processing payments of various kinds, and reports.
  • Punctual and flexible in assigned work schedule.
  • Work flexible schedule on regular days and holidays.
  • Responsible for drink stockroom maintenance drink count sheets daily.
  • Responsible for Sales Department deliveries and count sheets.
  • Assist management in merchandise orders.
  • Order and correspond directly with vendors (par based).
  • Assists management in merchandise returns/credits and invoice totals.
  • Assist management with all special projects and inventory control.
  • Ring up all internal charges bi-weekly and monthly.
  • Resolve team member, member, owner and guest complaints and concerns with management.
  • Assist management in development and training of team members.
  • Train team members on quality audit guidelines (following QA standards).
  • Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION
    • High School Diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE
      • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the retail/cash handling field required.
      • No supervisory experience required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
        • This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities. LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS
          • Food Handler---s card --- must be state/county-specific.
          • Alcohol Awareness Training Certification --- must be state/county-specific. SKILLS & ABILITIES This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices. Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers. Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:
            • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
            • Excellent customer service skills.
            • Proficient in time management; the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
            • Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.
            • Recognizes an emergency situation and takes appropriate action.
            • Able to establish and maintain a cooperative working relation.
            • Able to use sound judgment; work independently, with minimal supervision.
            • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
            • Able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with impending deadlines and/or established timeframes.
            • Competent in public speaking.
            • Performs well with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
            • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
            • Must be of legal age to sell alcohol.
            • Must be of legal age to sell cigarette and/or tobacco products.
            • Basic math skills.
            • Cash handling skills (the ability to count currency, make and count back change).
