  • Employee assistance programPOSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resource Generalist will develop, maintain and administer Human Resource policies and procedures, ensuring company compliance with Federal, State and County employment laws and regulations. The Human Resource Generalist assists with supporting and aligning human resources with the company mission. Engages with management, team members and subject matter experts to provide exceptional support and resources in the areas of recruitment, selection, benefits, leave administration, reports, claims, and employee records. Schedules training, and assists with talent management activities. Provides backup payroll support as needed.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business with an emphasis in Human Resources preferred OR an Associate's Degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of Human Resource experience, and 3 years of management in a related field.2. Requires a minimum of 3 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.3. Prior experience working in a family owned and operated company preferred.4. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR, SPHR certification preferred but not required.SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Broad knowledge of employment law.2. Proven ability to provide accurate and timely human resources to support the mission of the organization.3. Demonstrated ability to schedule and coordinate effective training from subject matter experts.4. Ability to maintain confidentiality.5. Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.6. Ability to update policies and procedures as needed.7. Skill in fostering a team environment to create a healthy and engaged work culture.8. Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities, while working with a flexible and collaborative work style and adapt to change well.9. Ability to grow with the organization. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.10. Ability to effectively supervise an HR Assistant.11. Maintains high levels of organization and attention to detail.12. Represents the company with professionalism, tact, and integrity.13. Proven ability to support, implement and align human resources with company strategic plans.14. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook andKronos. Ability to learn new software and maintain organized digital files.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is required to sit and concentrate for extended periods of time doing computer, telephone and meeting work. Must be able to walk, stand, use their hands to write, keyboard, handle, file paperwork, binders, operate office equipment, etc., talk and hear in person and over the telephone, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch. Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. This position will be required to stand and walk on uneven surfaces.TRAVEL: This position is required to travel to work locations and travel by boat as needed to other islands to provide HR support to managers and team members.
