opportunities for advancement. Currently, ManTech is seeking a
Senior Adaptive Optics Scientist in adaptive optics and wavefront
sensing and provide support to the Science and Analysis team in
Kihei, HI. This position is responsible for operation of the AEOS
Adaptive Optics System and must have a broad background in the
physical sciences. This effort will support ongoing research and
development (R&D) effort focused on exploring and innovating
technologies that advance state-of-the-art ground-based,
electro-optical space situational awareness, optical imaging,
advanced space tracking, and space object characterization
capabilities. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of
experience in adaptive optics and wavefront sensing. Experienced
with AEOS Adaptive Optics Systems. Demonstrated experience in
design and operation of optical systems including sensors and
lasers. Design, assembly, integration, and test of laser weapon
system beam directors. Metrology and common test equipment for
laser alignment. Skilled with interferometers, wavefront sensors,
and near-field, far-field and thermal imaging techniques. Ability
to independently set up and perform system tests. Experience using
simulation and S/W tools such as ZEMAX, MATLAB, MODTRAN, HELCoMES,
SolidWorks, NV-IPM, LabVIEW, CREO, and HELEEOS. Demonstrated
ability to lead technical teams in delivering innovative solutions
derived from USAF and USSF mission requirements. Broad background
in physical sciences. Familiarity with the USAF and US Space Force
space control/space domain awareness mission area.
Masters/Doctorate in Electro-Optics or related field. Preferred
Qualifications: Adaptive Optics specialist. Proficiency modeling,
analyzing, and simulating laser system function and performance.
Hands on experience with design, integration & test of laser
systems. Experience with control systems for beam direction,
tracking, and auto alignment. Security Clearance Requirements: A
current Top Secret with SCI eligibility security clearance is
required. Please note: Many of our positions require the ability to
obtain/maintain a security clearance. Security clearances may only
be granted to U.S. citizens. In addition, candidates who accept a
conditional offer of employment may be subject to government
security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements
for access to classified information. Physical Requirements:
Requires travel up to 10%; ability to remain in a stationary
position 50% of the time; ability to move around inside an office
and in field sites ability to operate a computer and other office
machinery such as copy machine and computer printer; occasionally
ascend/descend a ladder and or stairs to access work areas; ability
to complete repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and or
fingers; ability to communicate frequently with customers and
coworkers with ability to exchange accurate information in these
situations; ability to see words and graphics on computer screens
and in printed paper documents For all positions requiring access
